"Art is Hell"
To me, art is a way of expressing myself. If I never make a dime off of it, or never please anyone aesthetically with it, I will continue to create it, as I find it a way of getting ideas out, of purging myself of my demons. All of the pieces I create are from some hidden part of my soul. I usually create a piece with no template or idea to guide me, it forms itself. Alot of the messages in my art deal with things very personal to myself, and each piece has a part of my soul in it, whether it is ugly or not. My art is 'influenced' mainly by things I have seen or been through. I love the works of Ralph Hotere, Suzi9mm, Frances Bacon, Frida, Salvador Dali, Hieronymus Bosch, Robert Stephen Connett and Pablo Picasso. The film makers Darren Aronofsky and Harmony Kornie have huge influence for me, as I love the way that they make their films so raw and brutal, much like life itself. Most of the pieces on here, however, can be purchased. If you are interested in buying one, please contact me and I will give you the details of each piece, along with the price. My art truly is hell, the process in which I go about making it dredges up alot of raw emotion, something I hope to capture in each piece. Jessicka Cameron.
